Beth Kimbell

Sister Beth Kimbell has been an initiate of the O.T.O. since Anno IVix. She has held most positions at her home body of Knights Templar Oasis, in Salem, MA, and remains active as local lnitiation Chair, Initiator, E.G.C. Priestess, Special Events Coordinator, sometime class facilitator, and Newsletter Editor. She is also an active member of Sekhet-Maat Lodge, in Portland, OR. She is heavily active in the conference arena coordinating NOTOCON VI, Anno IVxv, since then serving as National Conference Committee Secretary for U.S.G.L.; speaking at the Mystics, Mothers, and Magicians Symposium held ln Sacramento, Anno lvxvi, and was appointed U.S.G.L. Kaaba Coordinator Anno IVxvii. She has spoken on Hospitality at U.S.G.L.’s Minerval Colloquium (Pre-NOTOCON VII, Anno IVxvi and at Kaaba, Anno lVxviii, and recently spoke on How to Host a Party at both the Fetish Fair Fleamarket #34 (panelist) and the Leather Expo Day of Education (presenter); taking the spirit of Hospitality everywhere she goes. She is a proud member of a leather family known for their advocacy and activism in the Kink world. In her spare time, she works as a Facilities Manager for a Security and Defense R&D lab, attempts to uplift humanity by setting the example of a Free Woman living by her convictions; practices magick; plays D&D; plans events for charity; and caters the rare wedding; but, spends most of her down time reading, writing her next essay or ritual, or compulsively rearranging her home. In addition to O.T.O., she is a supporter of NORML, ACLU, NCSF, SFLDEF, MAsT, and is an active member of the Society of Industrial Security Professionals and the New England Leather Alliance. She likes things and idolizes Benjamin Franklin.

Colin Campbell

Colin Campbell is the author of A Concordance to the Holy Books of Thelema (Teitan Press, 2008) and The Magic Seal of Dr. John Dee: The Sigillum Dei Aemeth (Teitan Press, 2009). His interest in ceremonial magic began when he encountered Albrecht Durer’s Melancholia I, and his principal focus has been on the practice of spiritual evocation in the grimoire tradition. He joined the O.T.O. in 2001, and is currently a member of Abrahadabra Oasis in the Valley of Portland, ME.

Coph Nia Oasis

Chartered in 1984 e.v., Coph Nia is the oldest continuously operating body in the Pacific Northwest, and one of the five oldest bodies in all of the O.T.O. Coph Nia Oasis operates a 24/7 facility in the central Oregon city of Eugene, home of the University of Oregon. Coph Nia’s schedule includes weekly celebrations of the Gnostic Mass, a full spectrum of EGC sacraments, initiation into M.M.M., and regular classes in magick, yoga, Thelema and Hermetic science. Coph Nia also publishes a monthly calendar containing works by Aleister Crowley and a journal, the Coph Nia Wand which offers a diverse collection of articles, art, poetry and reprints focused directly on magick, Aleister Crowley and Thelema.Coph Nia plans to be reestablished as a Lodge in time for NOTOCON VIII.

Craig Berry

Craig Berry joined O.T.O. in 1987. He has held a variety of leadership positions in the Order, at the local level (Master of Baphomet Lodge and Deputy Master of LVX Oasis, among others) and the national level (Bishop of EGC, member of the Grand Tribunal, USGL Internet Secretary). Despite his appearance of leading an entirely virtual existence, he does occupy a physical body in Los Angeles, where he lives with his daughter Lenore. Among his personal areas of research are the role of humor in magick and the culture and philosophy of the ancient Aztecs.

David R. Jones

David R. Jones is the Bodymaster of Coph Nia Oasis and the Past Master of Thelema Lodge. He was initiated into O.T.O. in 1984 e.v. and has been studying and practicing Thelemic magick and yoga since 1978. Brother Jones is a founding member of the Center for Enochian Studies and the John Dee Society and has published articles in the Thelema Lodge Calendar, The Coph Nia Wand and Sekhet-Maat’s Lion & Serpent. His life and work have been discussed in The Black Lodge of Santa Cruz, Synchronicity and the Seventh Seal and recently in Lon DuQuette’s Enochian Vision Magick. He holds degrees in Classics and Religious Studies from the University of Oregon magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa.

David Shoemaker

Dr. David Shoemaker is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Sacramento,CA, and has been a member of O.T.O. and AAsince 1993. David is the Past Master of 418 Lodge, having succeeded Soror Meral, his friend and teacher.He also serves as the M.W.S. of Alpha Chapter, and he has a seat on the Grand Tribunal.David is the founding President of the O.T.O. Psychology Guild, and a frequent speaker at NOTOCON. He is also member of the Initiation Training and EGC Clergy Training committees, and he serves as a Certified Initiator Trainer. His areas of interest include Qabalistic Psychology, ritual design, Raja Yoga, and systems of initiation (including Golden Dawn-style rites and the ΑΑ). As an ordained Priest of EGC, David led the team that developed the Pastoral Counseling Workshops, and he enjoys bringing the Workshops to members around the U.S.. He is a co-editor of the journals Cheth (418 Lodge) and Neshamah (Psychology Guild). His instructional Living Thelema segments can be heard monthly on the Speech in the Silence podcast.In addition to his work in magick and psychology, David is a composer and musician. Frater Hippokleides is a member of the Committee of Four of Tahuti Chapter R&C, a founding Member of Abrahadabra Oasis in Portland, Maine, a chartered initiator, and an ordained E.G.C. Priest. He was trained as a classical scholar at Berkeley and Yale, ultimately receiving a Ph.D. in Classics from Yale in 2000 e.v., and has studied extensively the original Greek and Latin writings of the Gnostic Saints who composed in those languages. He now lives and works in the Boston area.

Frater Hunahpu and Soror Ixel Balamke are founding members of Sekhet-Bast-Ra Oasis in Oklahoma City with 27 years of devotion to our Holy Order under their belt. They have both served in various duties over the years as local body officers, Co-Masters of Sekhet-Bast-Ra, Initiation Secretaries, helped the founding of USA Grand Lodge newsletter Agape, etc. Frater Hunahpu is currently the Grand Secretary General. Their love and appreciation of fine wine is legendary. Hunahpu and Ixel Balamke even named their Chapter after Dionysos due to their deep abiding and sensual fascination with wine, roses and agape. Currently they have a small cellar that holds 120 bottles.

Frater Julianus

An intitiate of the O.T.O. for over 20 years, Frater Julianus has been working on local body publications since the days when "cut and paste" involved real scissors and glue. He has edited The Herald-Tepaphonefor IAO Camp and The Old Hoosier Thelemite for Onnohpris Oasis and Mitra-Varuna Camp, and has contributed artwork to various Order publications. He is presently editor of Agape. This will be his third presentation at NOTOCON.

Frater Phoenix

Frater Phoenix took his minerval in 1994, the same year he became a Kundalini Yoga teacher. For the past 16 years he has pursued the practice and study of both Kundalini Yoga and Thelemic Magick in parallel. He has taught Yoga to Thelemites, and is passionate about providing hermeticists with embodied methods of self realization. Outside of these interests, he is a committed martial artist, surfer, hiker, and works as Design Anthropologist in Silicon Valley.

John P. Hanley

John P. “Snakedaddy” Hanley is an artist, musician, and poet, as well as a practicing Thelemite for 25 years, 15 of those as an O.T.O. initiate. Frater Hanley has served as an officer of Tahuti Lodge and is a founding member and Body Master of the now-defunct Laughing Serpent Camp in New Jersey. He is an ordained Deacon of the E.G.C. Frater Hanley is a self-taught musician and artist whose work focuses on the promotion of Thelemic Arts and artists to the general public.

Jon Sewell

Jon Sewell was raised in a religious household as a member of a large and diverse family. Jon developed an interest in music, theater, and spirituality at a young age. Since initiating in 1999 ev, Jon has been involved in a variety of public and private ritual celebrations within the O.T.O., as ordained clergy, initiator and as a writer and director of rituals and plays. After more than a decade in the underground Seattle music scene, Jon branched into musical theater late in 2000 ev, and began producing Aleister Crowley’s Rites of Eleusis as rock operas in early 2001 ev.in partnership with his intrepid partner, Melissa Holm.

Joseph Thiebes

Joseph Thiebes is Priest of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica, Initiator, and artist living in Portland, Oregon known as “New Alamut.” He has been studying the occult arts for 20 years, and has served as an officer and Lodge Master of Sekhet-Maat Lodge. Joseph has recently been appointed to the U.S. Grand Lodge Strategic Planning Committee. Joseph is a principal contributor to Thelemapedia, former editor of Agapé and of Lion & Serpent. He is a founding co-producer of the monthly Speech in the Silence podcast and the creator of AC2012. Joseph has participated in hundreds of public dramatic rituals in the last two decades, in every aspect of such productions, from performance in solo ritual, to Eucharistic ceremony and initiatory rites, to directing and producing invocative performances with full lighting & live music, to promotion and support of dramatic ritual groups in other cities like Eleusyve Productions. Joseph has spoken publicly on a variety of topics including Thelema, magick, and organizational leadership in Portland and various other locations in the U.S. and abroad. He continues to create and offer presentations at Sekhet-Maat Lodge and elsewhere on a regular basis.

M. Dionysus Rogers

Frater M. Dionysus Rogers joined O.T.O. in 1992 e.v. As T Polyphilus, he is an active Bishop of E.G.C., and much of his work in Thelemic promulgation and liturgy can be accessed through his website, Vigorous Food and Divine Madness.Dionysus has been a repeat presented at USGL Kaaba Colloquia, Advanced Initiator Training, and NOTOCONs. He is a member of Aum Ha Lodge and Ouarda Chapter, and Past Master of Scarlet Woman Lodge. A serpent-fierce and dove-foolish proponent of the mysteries, Dionysus’ areas of interest include and exceed: memory arts, sacerdotal science, choral music, onolatry, multigenerational Thelema, and erotic supremacy. Mark Dalton

Mark Dalton recently retired from a 30 year career as a social worker and state social services administrator to once again fully devote himself to his lifelong passions — playing music (professionally since age 15) and pursuing the history and practice of Magick. By age 21, Mark had played on the multi-platinum hit “In the Year 2525” and has been involved with recording and performing on stages across the country and in Europe ever since. Mark is a Washington Blues society “Best Bass” award winner, and was inducted into the Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Y2K. His award-winning writing has been published in national music magazines and in occult publications including “Widdershins,” “Silver Star — A Journal of New Magick,” and Horizon Oasis’ own quarterly journal, ‘Sky’s Embrace.” He recently completed an eleven-part Blog of the rehearsal and staging of “Aleister Crowley’s Rite of Mercury,” a full-scale theatrical presentation of the Rite as a rock opera here in Seattle. Mark’s long career as a state administrator involved the development and presentation of various kinds of workshops and training, and he has been delighted to find that this experience translates into researching and presenting magickal history in ways that are both instructive and entertaining! Mark is looking forward to NOTOCON VIII after attending and immensly enjoying NOTOCON VII here in Seattle last year.

Onyieh Jewel took her Minerval on April 1st, 1998. She has held a variety of Local Body Officer roles such as Initiation Secretary, E.G.C. Secretary and Treasuer as well as a Past Body Master for Horizon Oasis in Seattle, Washington. She is a Chartered Initiator, Ordained Priestess and currently is the High Priestess of the Rose Croix Anahata Chapter as well as a Committee of Four member. Onyieh is known to be approachable, hospitable and has a goofy sense of humor. She started her adventures with Enochian and scrying the 30 Aethyrs three years ago where she was hooked with all things Enochian and has continued her research, presentations and Enochian Group Ritual.

R. Leo Gillis

Frater R. Leo Gillis was born in Detroit, Michigan, in 1963, and is a writer, philosopher, musician, and recording engineer. He has been an active Thelemite for 28 years and was self-initiated at Boleskine House on the Winter Solstice of 1986. He joined the O.T.O. in 1995 and is presently affiliated with Blue Equinox Oasis. He holds a B.A. and M.L.I.S. from Wayne State University and has a lengthy career in the recording industry. His work on the Qabalah started in 1983, and the Trigrammaton Qabalah was first begun on Bastille Day, 1996 e.v. It has been developing ever since, and was the subject of a book published by Frater Gillis in 2009.

R.C. Stein/EAOA/77

Frater R.C. Stein/EAOA/77 is a retired Biology Professor. He joined the O.T.O. in 1983. He is a founder of Pyramid Lodge, Former President of the Electoral College, Initiator, and SGIG. He has presented lectures at all but one of the NOTOCON meetings. Past presentations have covered the Minerval Ritual, the Atus of Tahuti, and a ritual presentation of Ararita at the last NOTOCON. His lecture subjects also include Liber Nu and Liber Pyramidos. He has lectured in the U.K., Norway, Russia, Australia, Canada and the United States. His current studies focs on the meaning and integration of symbols and models.

Richard Kaczynski

Richard Kaczynski, Ph.D., is a researcher and historian of Western esoteric traditions and the author of Perdurabo: The Life of Aleister Crowley (2010), The Weiser Concise Guide to Aleister Crowley (2009), Panic in Detroit: The Magician and the Motor City (2004) and Perdurabo Outtakes (2003), among other articles and papers. He has appeared in the documentaries Secrets of the Occult (2006) and Aleister Crowley: The Beast 666 (2007). He recently contributed a pair of papers on the Thoth Tarot to the forthcoming academic anthologies Tarot in Culture and Math and Popular Culture. He has written and lectured internationally on these and related topics since 1990, and feels like he is just getting started. A member since 1987, he currently wears many hats in O.T.O., including that of Bishop of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica. He is a native of Detroit, and is happy to return home for NOTOCON VIII.

Kerry Kurowski

Kerry Kurowski (Soror Hypatia) has been a member of OTO since 1995. She presently serves as U.S. Grand Lodge EGC Secretary, High Priestess of Infinite Stars Chapter, and was master of William Blake Lodge from 2001-2008. As a speaker, she has taught numerous classes on the role of the priestess, Tarot, magick, initiation, ritual construction, fund raising, event management and many other topics. She has presented extensively in the MD/DC/VA metro area and at OTO bodies around the East Coast. Kerry is a regular presenter for Kaaba Colloquium, assisted with organizing the first NOTOCON, has lectured several times at NOTOCON as well as serving as on-site conference chair for NOTOCON in 2005. Additionally, she has lectured internationally in Sydney, Australia; Vancouver, Canada and Oslo, Norway. She works as a professional event manager.

Vere Chappell

Vere Chappell (Frater SLQ) began studying and practicing magick over twenty-five years ago, and joined OTO in 1989. Shortly thereafter, he founded LVX Camp in Los Angeles and served as its master for eight years, leading it through Oasis to become a Lodge. In 1997 he was appointed Grand Treasurer General for US Grand Lodge, and in 2005 he became Treasurer General for the OTO worldwide. He continues to serve US Grand Lodge as a Sovereign Grand Inspector General and as Most Wise Sovereign of Babalon Chapter in Los Angeles. He is chartered to initiate through the KRE degree and has conducted numerous initiations over the last fifteen years. He is also a Bishop of Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica and celebrates the Gnostic Mass monthly. Professionally, Bro. Chappell earned his MBA from Pepperdine University and is certified in Nonprofit Financial Planning and Management by California State University, Fullerton. He also has a doctoral degree in Human Sexuality and has published several articles about sex and spirituality. His first book, Sexual Outlaw, Erotic Mystic: The Essential Ida Craddock, was published by Red Wheel/Weiser in 2010. He lives in Southern California with his lovely wife and priestess, Lita-Luise, and their feline familiar.
